RWW PATIENT INSPIRES HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS FOLLOWING RECOVERY

Steve suffered a stroke due to the complications of drug use and other medical issues. He had no physical stamina and suffered from severe memory loss when the Rehab Without Walls staff in Fairfield, Maine, began working with him in 2008.

They’ve helped Steve with physical, speech, occupational and recreational therapy, as well as case management services.

“RWW therapy was the pilot light that sparked Steve’s motivation and overall recovery,” said Scott Mayo, executive director of RWW’s Maine Center for Integrated Rehabilitation (MCIR).

Thanks to Steve’s hard work and the MCIR staff, he has accomplished many goals that allow him to share his story at local high schools in hopes of preventing students from making the mistakes he made with drug addiction.
