Portland Comprehensive Brain Injury Program

Our Comprehensive Brain Injury Program offers evidence based neurological treatment for people who have experienced a TBI or ABI due to traumatic injury, stroke, on the job injury, or other illness. We work with people between the ages of 16 and 95 years of age. People participate in our program between the hours of 9am an 4pm, Monday through Friday, for up to 30 hours per week. We are client centered, and take your needs and preferences into account when planning your treatment schedule. All clients get a one hour lunch break while in the program. Our clients participate in interdisciplinary treatment that is coordinated and accessed in one location. People are referred to our program due to a variety of reasons for brain injury, including injury on the job, falls, stroke, electrocution, anoxic brain injuries, or developmental brain injuries. As the leading Brain Injury Rehabilitation Center in Oregon, we are uniquely equipped to help you reach your goals, even after a significant life changing brain injury. While length of stay varies, an average brain injury day treatment program is about 12 weeks. After attending a full time program, it is common for our clients to enter a phase of our program that is part time, and gives them an opportunity to practice the strategies they learned at home or on the job, while still receiving the support of our clinical staff as they fully reintegrate into these roles.

For people injured on the job, our program helps identify your current strengths and barriers for returning to your job at the time of injury. In depth assessment and treatment is provided in helping identify strategies that you can use to return to your original position, a modified position or retraining. Often, volunteering is facilitated as a way to prepare for return to work. Our functional skills program replicates multiple work environments and provides individualized treatment in a collaborative setting that helps you build on your strengths and challenge you in new areas with every single session. Your services will be provided by highly trained clinicians including a Neuropsychologist, Doctor of Osteopathy, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Biofeedback specialist, and a psychologist or mental health counselor.
