Therapy Programs and Services

Brain Injury

As a leader in neuro rehab for more than 30 years, Rehab Without Walls® addresses the unique needs of people who have experienced an acquired brain injury (ABI) or traumatic brain injury (TBI). Our proven approach combines multiple specialties that are not solely focused on what an individual can do today; rather we’re looking at sustainable long-term results, months, and years down the road.

Spinal Cord Injury

While neuro rehab can’t reverse permanent spinal cord damage, it can help people who have SCI lead the fullest life possible. Rehab Without Walls® helps individuals improve mobility, learn how to use adaptive equipment, and manage the emotional challenges of their new life.

Stroke

Our Personalized Stroke Rehab Program Addresses Physical, Cognitive, and Emotional Recovery.

Neurological Conditions

With all our rehab programs, we work with the individual and their family to set functional and personal treatment goals. We then create customized rehab programs centered around those goals.

Post COVID Rehabilitation

Our combined team expertise provides a holistic and comprehensive approach to care. All members of the team consistently address physical and cognitive challenges to improve self-care and return to functional independence.

Physical Therapy

Our team of physical therapists use methods, called modalities, such as ultrasound, functional electric stimulation for muscles, aquatic therapy, and manual therapy to promote proper movement and function.

Occupational Therapy

Our occupational therapy practitioners utilize a holistic approach where the focus is on adapting the environment and/or task to each individual. In all our settings, the individual, family, and care team are an integral part of the plan. The holistic approach utilized by our team enables individuals of all ages to live life to the fullest along with promoting health.

Speech Language Pathology

We offer an evidence-based, person-centered, meaningful approach to meet our individual’s communication and life goals. We work with individuals, their families, and their support teams to help them re-learn the skills needed to succeed in daily life.

Recreational Therapy

At Rehab Without Walls® our Recreational therapists are nationally certified as Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialists (CTRS) and have experience working with neuro-based injuries.

Vocational Rehabilitation

Our vocational therapy evaluates the individual’s abilities to fit into a job or career that will allow them to thrive.

Neuropsychology

We perform comprehensive neuropsychological assessments to determine what cognitive issues, or psychosocial factors may be present. We then meet with individuals and their families to discuss the diagnosis, prognosis, or issues related to the recovery process and the rehabilitation program, along with provide recommendations for successful reentry into prior activities, such as school or work.

Available Care Settings

Home & Community

The foundation of our approach: individualized rehab delivered in the patient’s own environment.

Home & Community

Home and community rehab combines evidence-based therapies with creative uses of the patient’s own surroundings – whether at home, school, work, or in the community.

THE GOAL FOR THE PATIENT IS TO RECOVER, LEARN AND GROW – IN A COMFORTABLE AND FAMILIAR PLACE. THIS LEADS TO RAPID AND LASTING FUNCTIONAL INDEPENDENCE AND PATIENT SUCCESS.

Rehab Without Walls® goes beyond traditional home health or outpatient therapy. We specialize in providing functional, intensive, individualized therapy within your home and community. Goals are developed collaboratively with family, patient, and a therapy team to focus on how best to return your family member to their desired activity, or discover new hobbies and tasks after injury.

Our program begins with safety within the home and quickly advances to community re-integration and exploring new and previously enjoyed outings with the safety and knowledge of a rehab professional. In addition to learning how to prepare a meal at home, patients learn to shop at their local grocery store and use their own kitchen. Rather than simply focusing on grooming skills, patients learn to navigate their own bathrooms safely.

As our name suggests, our therapy is without bounds. The goal is to extend your therapy to meet your individual goals at home, at school, at work, a return to driving, and within your community.

IS HOME AND COMMUNITY NEURO THERAPY THE RIGHT FIT?

Home and community neuro therapy is best suited for adult and pediatric patients who:

  • Reside in a home or community setting
  • Have a brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke, or have a complex diagnosis requiring a multi-disciplined rehabilitation
  • Have complex/continuing therapy goals
  • Are focused on functional community re-entry
  • Would experience a clinical advantage from working on functional goals in a real-life setting

Our innovative home and community neuro therapy programs are covered by many commercial health insurance programs and workers’ compensation plans. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept Medicare and Medicaid, but we do offer private pay options. Contact us for more information about your options.

An initial assessment with a rehab professional will allow the family and team to individualize your care plan to best suit your needs medically. The home and community rehab care team is overseen by a physician and led by a clinical coordinator. The clinical coordinator pulls together the right team, ensures that there are no gaps or overlaps in services, facilitates communication and leads frequent team meetings with therapists, patients and families. Our expert team creates a customized therapy plan for each home and community rehab patient.

The plan may include:

  • Physical Therapy
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Speech-Language Pathology
  • Neuropsychology
  • Community reintegration
  • Counseling
  • Social Work
  • Dietician
  • Vocational Rehab
