From No-Step to Two-Step

Brett W.’s story begins just before his 57th birthday when he suffered a stroke. Sixteen days later, he was admitted to Rehab Without Walls Residential services in San Marcos, Texas. When Brett was first admitted he required the use of a wheelchair, but within 29 days of receiving our services he was discharged back home to be with his wife. Even the day before his discharge, Brett was up dancing with his wife to George Strait!

Brett’s MPAI score changed from 49 to 45, which indicates great gains in all disciplines. While he continues to have opportunities for improvement, he is highly motivated and committed to his outpatient services he’s now receiving.

Brett stated, “I chose Rehab Without Walls because they had rehab five to six hours a day, so I was getting two-times as much therapy,” he went on to say, “overall this has been a great experience for me, the people are great and treated me wonderfully.”

Our treatment team was certainly inspired by Brett and his dedication to recovery throughout all his therapies.
